Who We Are
Northstar Basements LLC is a basement finishing company serving Utah County, Utah. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit northstarbasements.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It covers this website only.
Information You Give Us
When you fill out our contact form or start a chat with us, we ask for your name, email address, phone number, and details about the basement project you have in mind. You decide what to share. We use it to answer your question, schedule a consultation, and prepare an estimate.
Information Collected Automatically
When you browse the site we collect standard technical information: which pages you visit, how long you stay, the site or search that sent you, your device and browser type, and an approximate location based on your IP address. That location is city level at best. We cannot see your street address from your browsing.
Session Recording
We use Microsoft Clarity to record how visitors move through the site, including clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement. We do this to find pages that confuse people so we can fix them. Text you type into form fields is masked and is not visible to us in these recordings.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our analytics tools place cookies in your browser so they can tell a returning visitor from a new one and measure whether our marketing is working. These cookies are not required for the site to function. You can block or delete them in your browser settings at any time, and the site will still work normally.
How We Use Your Information
We use what we collect to respond to your inquiry and schedule a consultation, prepare and follow up on estimates, keep records of work we have completed, improve how the website works, and understand which marketing actually brings homeowners to us.
Who We Share Information With
We share information with the companies whose tools run this site: Google for analytics, Microsoft for Clarity, Chatbase for chat, and Framer for hosting. Each handles that data under its own privacy terms. We also share project details with our own crew and subcontractors when it is needed to do the work you asked for. We will disclose information if the law requires it.
We Do Not Sell Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not hand it to advertisers for their own purposes.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep inquiry and project records for as long as we need them to do the work and to maintain our business records. Analytics and session data are kept according to the retention settings of the tools we use, and are not held indefinitely.
Your Choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email nsbutah@gmail.com and we will respond. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on, and you can stop Clarity from recording by blocking cookies in your browser. You can also ask us to stop contacting you at any time and we will.
Children's Privacy
This site is meant for adults making decisions about their own homes. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Links to Other Sites
Our site links out to other places, including our Google Business Profile and our social media pages. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No website or email system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive personal information such as financial account numbers through our contact form or by email.
