Project Overview

This project centered on transforming an unfinished Utah County basement into a fully custom wine cellar and luxury tasting lounge built to store and showcase a growing wine collection. The renovation scope included floor-to-ceiling wine rack installation, premium stone tile flooring, tailored climate control, ambient pendant lighting, and a dedicated leather lounge seating area.

From the initial design consultation to final installation, every detail was carefully selected to convert an unused Utah basement into a refined, intimate space built for entertaining, collecting, and long-term wine investment.

The Challenge

The original basement was unfinished and lacked proper climate control for wine storage. Temperature fluctuations in Utah's climate made the raw space completely unsuitable for preserving any collection.

There was no insulation, humidity control, or framing to support custom wine racks. The space had no defined layout, no usable lighting, and no aesthetic foundation to build the luxury environment the homeowners wanted.

The Solution

To address the climate requirements, we installed a dedicated wine cellar cooling unit alongside vapor barriers and insulation designed to maintain consistent temperature and humidity—essential for preserving a premium wine collection in Utah's variable climate year-round.

The space was redesigned around two needs: maximum bottle storage and an intimate tasting experience. Custom floor-to-ceiling wooden wine racks were constructed wall to wall. Two leather club chairs and a round accent table anchored the center, creating a welcoming lounge for tastings and guests. Stone tile flooring and a warm pendant light completed the look without compromising the wine storage environment.

The Result

The completed wine cellar now functions as a sophisticated showcase and private retreat within the Utah home, offering an elegant space for entertaining guests and curating a world-class collection.

Beyond aesthetics, the renovation adds real measurable value to the property and enhances its market appeal for Utah homebuyers, turning a previously unused basement into a standout luxury feature that sets the home apart.

"My wife wanted this wine storage setup and I was skeptical but wow... this turned out amazing. The whole vibe down there is just perfect for entertaining. Everything is finished beautifully and the team really knew what they were doing with the design. No regrets at all - we've already had neighbors asking for their number!"
